Providing tools for data capture and linking, data labeling, import/export of SHP files, polygon topology creation and analysis, and more, Carlson GIS is an awesome GIS “Swiss Army Knife” for the surveyor or engineer.
Carlson GIS – with 64-bit capability – runs atop any AutoCAD, including regular AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map, Land Desktop or Civil 3D, versions 2004 – current, plus on IntelliCAD.
FOR CIVIL ENGINEERS BY CIVIL ENGINEERS
Carlson GIS is designed for GIS technicians and engineers by civil engineers, based on 25 years of experience in the software industry serving this market. Carlson GIS takes the experience of inland development feature development, adds in the comprehensive experience in the overlapping markets of survey, construction, and mining, and distills the highest level of robust automation and ease-of-use of Geographical Information System processing solution available today.
Create CAD From non-CAD Documents
Create CAD from non-CAD documents such as PDFs, raster images, and paper plans, generate CAD text from raster images, and import or export BIM models into CAD.
Carlson CADnet modules serve to answer the specific needs of geotechnicians, civil engineers, and construction professionals who may not have required all of Takeoff’s many capabilities.
AUTOCAD AND INTELLICAD
Carlson CADnet supports AutoCAD® and comes with the latest IntelliCAD® built-in. This is in addition to working on legacy AutoCAD versions.
Developed for more than 10 years within Takeoff, Carlson’s popular site estimating and data prep software, Carlson CADnet joins with Carlson GeoTech and Carlson Trench to provide customers the flexibility to obtain just the software they need at an affordable price. These three modules can also be paired with Carlson Construction to form the Carlson Takeoff Suite and the Carlson Takeoff OEM.
CADnet has been updated with Carlson’s new Trace Polyline raster to vector commands. The Trace Polyline command has the ability to follow linework in images and snapping along with an added method to create 90-degree corners. New raster to vector commands includes: Trace Rectangle, Trace Circle, Remove Speckles and Replace Color. Users can also output 3D PDFs directly from 3D Viewer Windows and 3D Drive Simulation commands.
From Field-Scan To Finished-Plat
Carlson Point Cloud Basic is a modular program that provides the ability to go from field scan to finished plat, all with seamless integration to Carlson Survey, Carlson Civil, and Carlson Mining.
Point Cloud Basic is designed to work within a CAD environment to manipulate and extract data from a point cloud.
It has a very large capacity (up to a billion points) and is a great program for performing a “virtual survey” directly in a cloud. It allows the creation of Carlson points and 3D polylines utilizing a typical Carlson Field to Finish code table (FLD file) and draws entities directly into an open CAD drawing with no additional export function.
A notable feature is Survey by Grid which sets points at any specified grid spacing.
